To leave the old with a burst of song;
To recall the right and forgive the wrong;
To forget the things that bind you fast
To the vain regrets of the year that's past;
To have the strength to let go your hold
Of the not worth while of the days grown old;
To dare go forth with a purpose true,
To the unknown task of the year that's new;
To help eachother along the road,
To do good work and lift your load;
To add your gift to the world's good cheer,
Is to have and to give a Happy New Year.
A Happy New Year to each of you that may stumble upon my little blog. The end of 2009 was significant to me. A decade ended, one which began when I was barely a teen. I can hardly fathom all that I've experienced in the last ten years. I enter 2010 with excitement and curiosity, wondering what the next ten years has in store. I will never live to see a single digit year again. And on top of all of that, last night was a blue moon. One which I managed to catch a glimpse of (despite our overcast weather) in the wee hours of the night when I snuck into the kitchen for a bite of cookie and a glass of milk. The ushering in of 2010 means some change here at 'A Sofa in the Kitchen', I look forward to sharing that with you in the coming weeks and months. I hope you all had a happy, safe, and delicious (of course!) New Years. Chin Chin! Skål!
